Please follow all instructions:

 

Phase 1: The 2-Day Dry Heal (Days 1 & 2)

 

Keep the tattoo clean but completely dry. Do not apply any ointments, lotions, or creams during these first 48 hours.

• Remove bandage safely: Take off the initial wrap after 2 to 4 hours.

• Wash immediately: Use lukewarm water and a liquid, unscented antibacterial soap.

• Use your hands or clean paper towel only: Gently wash away plasma, blood, and excess ink with clean fingertips.

• Never use a washcloth: Avoid loofahs or towels, which harbor bacteria and cause friction.

• Pat dry gently: Use a clean, single-use paper towel to press dry. Do not rub.

• Let it air out: Leave the tattoo completely bare to let the skin breathe and seal itself.

• Wash twice daily: Clean it once in the morning and once at night.

 

Phase 2: Unscented Lotion (Day 3 Onward)

 

Once the skin has settled for two days, introduce moisture to prevent cracking and peeling.

• Choose the right lotion: Use a plain, water-based, fragrance-free lotion (like Lubriderm or Aveenol).

• Apply a micro-layer: Use only a few tiny, pea-sized drops for the entire tattoo.

• Rub it in fully: The skin should look hydrated, not shiny, wet, or greasy.

• Blot away excess: If the tattoo looks wet after applying, blot it with a paper towel.

• Repeat 2 to 3 times daily: Apply lotion only when the skin feels tight, dry, or itchy.

 

Please do not do:

• Do not pick scabs or flakes: Let skin flake off naturally to avoid pulling out the ink.

• No soaking: Avoid baths, hot tubs, pools, and swimming for at least 2 to 3 weeks.

• Avoid direct sun: Keep the healing tattoo shaded. Do not apply sunscreen until it is fully healed.

• Wear loose clothing: Tight fabrics will rub against the tattoo and irritate the raw skin.

"SECOND SKIN"

if we decide to use second skin for your tattoo. Please keep the bandage on for the entire 7 days as long as it doesn't leak out. There is an option to be wrapped with a pea pad for 24 hours and then applying the second skin after cleaning it (either by me or yourself/friend), this works well for big color sessions as you've had time for weeping plasma to do its thing.  REMOVE SECOND SKIN DRY, NOT IN THE SHOWER. second skin can also be purchased from DEADLY NORTH TATTOO SUPPLY in edmonton

 

**Please note if it does leak out before the 7 days please remove it immediately (if liquid can get out, it means bacteria can get it in). Clean it in the shower, pat dry with a clean paper towel, and then follow the steps above to healing the good ol' fashion way. Do NOT reapply second skin, that gives another chance of trapping bacteria in the tattoo.
